The Children

Through sports ministry, millions of children have been participating in a sports and games program that has increasingly given rise to associated compassionate activities that the children themselves do.

These might be community activities like painting an orphanage in Liberia, hunting for food for the old people in Cameroon or cleaning the streets in Kolkata. Some are environmental like the Green Madagascar where the children planted a million trees. Children want to and are able to make a difference to their world. In Egypt and Uganda, the games gave rise to spiritual, media and sports leadership camps for children to help them grow in their skills while discipling them in their faith. A widespread sports program amongst youth is linking sports skill development with life skill development and proving revolutionary in mentoring and discipling teenagers and children – many of whom lack fathers and role models.

Uganda

With the growing number of Orphans due HIV/AIDS and absentee father, single parenting, children in Uganda have increasing become more vulnerable and prey to all sorts of evil in the society. KidsGames is not only an evangelistic tool to reaching Ugandan Children but also discipleship and a medium through which life skills and christian/biblical values are communicated.

Presenting Need

The sustainability of KidsGames range from continued training of Leaders (Children Teachers, Teen Club, Church and Community leaders), to more strategic effort in the creation of ownership, providing resources and equipping regional sports teams and Kids/Teen Clubs.

There has been a growing need to multiply KidsGames to more Churches and communities and also training Leaders in children and sports ministry.

Many Children teachers had never received any form of children training especially in rural areas, but due to KidsGames and Max7 they have been introduced and trained to handle and minister effectively to children. This year with the World Cup of soccer in South Africa offers such a huge ministry opportunity to expand KidsGames to previously unreached communities and also strength the established ones.

Objectives for the next 2 years

  • To train leaders in the effective use of children resources i.e. KidsGames Materials
  • To strengthen Children Discipleship and Evangelism through churches
  • To cast vision of children evangelism
  • To offer platform for Uganda Children Forum
  • Establish a more working children ministry partnership and forum in communities and among other stake holders
  • To help churches use major sports events i.e World Cup for Children Evangelism
  • To plan, Prepare, equip children ministries in the local communities
  • Continue and expand KidsGames in Uganda

We need you and your organization to make this dream a reality.
